Farm Campsite: Notes

Farm Campsite, UnSafe Site

Fencing improved

The barrier between the campsite and the main farm site has been improved by planting a prickly hedge. Adding a mesh fence would prevent children climbing over the hedge while it grows to it full height.

Use of building changed

The farm owners have tried as far as possible to seperate the camping and working areas of the farm. Changing the use of this building means the campers no longer need to cross the site to access the games room.

Improved training introduced

The owners have made efforts to improve the standards of recruitment of temporary workers and have introduced an induction training scheme.

Improved signage added

Pictoral (as opposed to text based) warning signs alert campers to the dangers posed by farm vehicles. Signage alone however is not sufficient to prevent children venturing into dangerous areas of the site.

Speed limit imposed

A maximum speed of 5 mph has been imposed on the site, and new signage installed. The farm owners are rigorous in their management of the new speed restrictions.
